Abstract

The particle size of injected deacidified rapeseed oil spray was measured by the immersion method, in which the injected fuel particles were caught on a glass plate coated with two kinds of liquid; one is the mixture of methyl cellulose, methyl alcohol and water (M M W), adjusted in different kinematic viscosity, and other is silicon oil. The effect of the kind of coating liquid and catching time on the particle size was measured. The effect of catching position was also tested using silicon oil for coating. The particle size of theinjected vegetable oil spray, such as refined rapeseed oil spray, was measured on the glass plate coated with silicon oil, and found that the silicon oil coating can be used for vegetable oil test. It was also found that the particle size of deacidified rapeseed oil spray was almost the same as that of other vegetable oils, and smaller than that measured in the past.
