Abstract

In order to analyze the soil-water coupled finite deformation behavior, the FEM program is developed by introducing the extended subloading surface model (unconventional elastoplastic constitutive model) which is capable of describing not only the monotonic but also the cyclic deformation. The validity was verified by comparing FEM results with some triaxial test results. The FEM results for the relationship between the shear strength and the axial strain rate of normally consolidated clay agreed well with test results. Besides, the deformation behavior of the homogeneous triaxial specimen caused by the pore water flow is discussed in detail.
