To clarify the vibrational characteristic of a frame fabricated with portable type tea-plucking machine, the effects of the frame structure regarding natural frequency and vibrational mode were examined utilizing the results of a numerical analysis undertaken by a transfer matrix method. As a result, it could be found that the manipulation for the outside diameters of the main members were most effectively affected to the changes of natural frequencies, and hence the natural frequency tended to increase as the outside diameters increased. It could be expected to reduce the vibration at the grip point by changing the outside diameter of the main members from 22mm to 25mm.
