Rice plant absorbs nutrition from soil and fertilizer, and then it produces grain and straw. Therefore, in order to investigate the relationship between the growth of rice and the absorbed nutrition, it is necessary to measure the grain and straw yield. In this study, a measuring system for the straw yield using a knotter was fabricated to measure it while a combine is harvesting rice. Field tests were conducted using this measuring system. The dry mass of a bunch of straw bound by knotter did not depend on the straw moisture, but on the speed of combine. The straw yield map was calculated by compensating the dry mass of the straw bunch according to the speed of combine (0.35-0.94m/s).
