Abstract
It is necessary to develop a design theory of the knife driving system of combine harvesters in order to derive the control parameters of the balance weights used for vibration reduction. This is necessary for proposing scientific design principles in order to minimize vibration and decrease cost. However, in a knife driving system, nonlinear vibration occurs due to the locations of the balance weights, and this has hampered the development of the design theory. Therefore, this research aims to understand the vibration characteristics of the knife driving system and use the feedback for the design theory. In this report, the frequency resolution of the accelerations was measured in a time series, and the vibration characteristics of each frequency component were examined.
