Significance of surface area of indifferent plate in analysis of cardiac pacing system

Abstract

The adequacy of the surface area of indifferent plate used in analysis pacemaker system was evaluated and it was indicated that it should be more than 6.0 cm2 to obtain accurate stimulation threshold and lead impedance.
In order to achieve permanent pacing with certainty, an indifferent place of enough size must be used though the life of battery may be shortened.
