Abstract
Advantage of ISPX
I. ISPX has superior hydrodynamic characteristics almost equivalent tc the best of mechanical valves.
II. Postoperative hemodynamic evaluation indicates that ISPX presents significantly better performance than Hancock Xenograft in CUSP Opening, pressure gradient and valve area.
III. The excellent hemodynamic characteristics of ISPX appears to be particularly in Smaller Size.
IV. There has been no structural failure and thromboembolic complication during 1220 patient months follow-up.
Disadvantage of ISPX
I. A consistent relationsnships between each size of valve and pressure gradient or valve area Could not obtained.
II. The incidence of PVE of 3.93% per patient year oecured and 2 patients were lost in late follow-up. Extremely careful attension for possible infection is mandatory.
