Hemodynamic evaluation of the mitral valve replacement with the Ionescu-Shiley bovine pericardial xenograft valve in the early postoperative phase

Abstract

We reported about the hemodynamic evaluation of the twenty one patients. The valve function was the best in the patients with the mitral regurgitation and the combined stenosis and regurgitation implanted by the Ionescu-Shiley valve of which the valve diameter was 31 and 33mm. The mitral valve mean diastolic gradients were 8.33±3.21mmHg in 25 and 27mm. 4.60±1.54mmHg in 29mm, and 3.17±1.08mmHg in 31 and 33mm valve diameter.
