Abstract
A recommended procedure was obtained in this report for measuring in vitro solute clearance (CL) of hemodialyzers. Fundamental experiments on the influence of temparature on CL were performed with Toray B1-200. Performance estimation of 14 modules was carried out under the fixed conditions to obtain the values of CL and overall mass transfer coefficient (K) for urea, creat. and VBl These data ere influenced by the valiables associated with module design. The effect of channeling especially in dialysate flow was found to be an important factor in performance estimation of hemod ialyzers.
