Abstract
Immunosuppressed plasma of cancer-bearing patients were filtrated by EVAL-C (KF-101) in the experimental closed circuit. Rejection rate of alubumin by EVAL-C is 84%. Immunosuppression was presented by influence of mitogen (PHA and ConA)-induced blastogenesis of normal lymphocyte. Filtrate mostly showed improved immunosuppression compared with that of original. But some case showed the strong suppression in the filtrate. The suppression of others improved markedly both in the filtrate and residual. Heat-inactivation of plasma was performed heating at 56°C for 30 minutes. This preparation improved the immunosuppressed plasma to the normal level. And it made the immunosuppression of plasma better on residual than original plasma. According to these facts, filtrate by protein permiable hemofilter is to be discarded, and heat-inactivation on residual would be a good immunomodulating therapy for the far advanced cancer patients which saves much amount of fresh frozen plasma.
