Abstract
For the past 21 months, 356 sessions of plasma exchanges were carried out for33patients using Cobe Centry TPE system. No sereous side effects such as profound hypotension, hemolysis and allergic reaction was observed during procedure. with 50 to 120ml/min of blood flow rate, the system gained a high plasma separation rate averaging 34ml/min. Chronic repeated plasma exchanges fpr 4 patients demonstrated a good biocompatibility of the system evidenced by little changes of blood cellular elements. In addition, the chronic weekly plasma exchange with one plasma volume or more of PPF solution did not produce any unbalance of coagulation status.
