Abstract
It has been reported that adult rat hepatocytes that interacted with proteoglycan in the primary culture formed Hepatocyte-Spheroid, in which the cell density was much higher than in the Hepatocyte/Monolayer. The Hepatocyte/Spheroid of adult rat hepatocytes maintained the high abilities of bilirubin glucuronide conjugation for at least 14 days. The Hepatocyte/Spheroid might be another choice of culture system for making an artifical liver.
