Abstract
We measured the thresholds and P or R wave amplitudes at generator exchange in the last 10 years. We compared leads data between lead types in 80 patients. The leads we compared were EDWARDS SOLID-TIP VENTRICULAR LEAD 8204 implanted before 1980), MEDTRONIC RING-TIP ATRIAL LEAD 8991U, RING-TIP VENTRICULAR LEAD 6971, 6972(after 1980) and MEDTRONIC TARGET-TIP ATRIAL LEAD 4511, 4512, TARGET-TIP VENTRICULAR LEAD 4011, 4012(after 1984).Average observing period of each groups were 5.0-7.8 years.There were some cases of pacing failure in RING-TIP atrial lead group due to high threshold. But there were few cases of high threshold in TARGET-TIP atrial lead group. The average threshold of TARGET-TIP ventricular lead group was 1.2 volt. It seems to be good for observing period of 5.2 years.
