Abstract
We have made clear the mechanism of the selective separation of plasma protein i n the salt-amino acid coprecipitation (SAC) system. It was confirmed that the precipitator was added to the plasma to allow immediate formation of the precipitate, and that a large quantity of the globulin fraction was selectively removed due to the difference of physical and chemi-cal characteristics of each plasma protein. It was indicated that the concentration of albumin in the supernatant was decreased at the same rate. On the other hand the concentration of globulin was decreased and reached a plateau. Further, it was concluded that the SAC method needs less plasma than the double filtration method, to obtain equal removal rate of globulin.
