Abstract
For evaluation of hemolysis of TS-pump, hemoly-sis tests were carried out by using a closed circulatory system in vitro and animals (sheep). The hemolysis was compared between TS-pump and one of conventional centrifu-gal pump. In vitro test, hemolysis of TS-pump(zl Hb) was less than 10 mg/dl/hr under the pump conditions of 1500- 2500rpm and 6.OL/min. In vivo test, the hemolysis rised up to about 50mg/dl at immediate after the operation, and then it failed about 20 mg /dl. There was no difference between TS-pump and the conventional Centrifugal pump. This TS-pump proved to be possible of clinical use. The micro-capsule solution also proved to be usefulfor simulation of mechanical hemolysis test.
