Abstract
Rate output curve was studied in patients with chronically implanted rate programmable pacemakers at rest and after exercise.
The following conclusions can be resulted from observation on the rate output curve:
1. In “peaked type” it showed peaked type after exercise.
2. In “flat type” the heart rate on maximum cardiac output after exercise was higher than it was at rest.
3. In the case of patients spending active daily life, it is desirable adjust the pacing rate at the optimal one.
