Abstract

Various steels are prepared for a carburization in ferrite phase. Effect of alloying elements (Cr, Mo, V) for surface hardness was investigated in this study. We confirmed the low temperature carburizing below the A₁ point of steel. The steel containing V and Mo increased in surface hardness to over Hv 600 approximately.
