Abstract
Cyclic oxidation of Fe-20Cr-4Al alloys with small amounts of sulfur contained was studied up to 5 cycles (1 cycle=18.0ks) at 1473K in oxygen. Adherence of oxide scales on Fe-20Cr-4Al-(3, 104 and 171ppm) S alloys was improved by sulfur. On the other hand, oxide scales on Fe-20Cr-4Al-(35 and 53ppm) S alloys spalled markedly after 1-3 cycles, and amounts of spalled oxide of the alloys decreased after 4-5 cycles.
