This study was performed to improve the precision of a thread by deriving its radial force (thrust force) with a four-component piezoelectric dynamometer and thread cutting by helical interpolation motion using a thread mill. In addition, using a wireless holder, the display of cutting force in polar coordinates and its characteristics were considered, and the consistency of the proposed method was confirmed. The cutting force resulting from the revolution and rotation of the tool during thread cutting was analyzed based on the proposed method and position information from the wireless holder and the servo drive unit, and the phenomena occurring between the rough cutting edge and the finishing cutting edge during thread cutting were clarified. The relationship between work material hardness and cutting force was examined, and thread machining was studied.
