Abstract

In order to provide up-to-date health care, it is vital for athletic trainers (ATs) to carefully and continuously evaluate emerging evidence from the primary sources. Reading and accurately interpreting the content of English-written peer-reviewed journal articles, however, can be challenging for ATs in Japan. 1) Knowing the basic components of a journal article (the anatomy, if you will), 2) developing metacognitive critical-thinking skills, 3) utilizing the technology; and 4) creating a supportive environment might be beneficial to make the reading process more strategic, simpler and smoother, and more fun and enjoyable.
