Abstract

The High Performance Support Project, which is commissioned by the Japan Sports Agency, targets athletes who are expected to win medals, and strategically and comprehensively provides specialized and high-level support from various fields. (1) Athlete support through the use of sports medicine, science, and information by specialized staff in various fields, including movement analysis, game analysis, information gathering, nutritional support, conditioning support, and psychological support at training camps and competitions, and (2) preparing a support system for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

In addition, since para-athletes have various disabilities, it is necessary to understand not only the physical condition of the athletes, but also the characteristics of materials such as artificial legs and wheelchairs, and to create training program that match the athletes’ remaining functions to improve their performance.
