Abstract
Lilium leichtlinii var. Ieichtlinii (2n=24+0-1B) bearing the citron-yellow colored flowers is considered a mutant type occurring spontaneously in L. maximowiczii (2n=24) with the reddish orange flower. Other characters on the external morphology, karyotype, and B-chromosome in the L.l. var. Ieichtlinii conform to those in the L. maximowiczii. This mutant revealing the self-incompatibility produced good capsules in the outcross and also in the intervarietal cross with L. maximowiczii.
