Abstract
It is important problem to clarify the possibility of recombination of parental chromosomes in the interspecific hybrid progenies to combine the useful characters of the parents. For this purpose, cytogenetical analysis was made on the hybrid between Vicia sativa var. alba (Sw) and V. macrocarpa (M) . From the gene analysis of flower color and pod color, it is presumed that the genes concerned with flower color and pod color were R (red flower, dominant) and γ (white, recessive), L1 (black pod, epistatic to L2), L2 (brown pod) and l1l2 (yellow pod, each recessive). It is proved that these above mentioned genes locate on the parental chromosomes which cannot be identified by karyological analysis, and also these chromosomes are able to recombinate in the hybrid progenies.
