Abstract
Chronic gamma irradiation of parental plants throughout the period from the differentiation of spore mother cells to dehiscence proved to have considerable influence on hybrid survival from the interspecific crosses, Radiation had a beneficial effect in the crosses where nontreated hybrid survival was very low, while the effect was deleterious in crosses where hybrid survival was fairly high without radiation.
