Abstract
The effect of seeding density on the indirect responses of yield through the selection for other traits associating to yield was investigated. The relative selection efficiency for yield varied considerably both with trait and with seeding density. The results obtained suggested that the contribution of the secondary traits to yield improvement in indirect selection were different depending upon cultural conditions for breeding materials.
