Abstract
1. This w-ork has been carried on to, make clear the modes of quantitative inleritance in main crops from the view point of breeding. Materials used are the F1 - F4 generations from the three crosses (A) AIKOKU x GINBOZU, (B) KYOTO-ASAHI x AIKOKU and (C) KYOTO-ASAHI x GlN-BOZU. The total numbers of lines and individuals observed are 724, 59 and 190 respectively. 2. AIKOKU is a leading variety of early heading type with short culm, while GlNBOZU a medium culm and KYOTO-ASAHI a late type with long culm.
