Abstract
A procedure was developed for preparing methyl N-trifluoroacetyl methoxy esters of anthranilic acid and its related compounds, and methoxy N-trifluoroacetyl acetophenones from L-kynurenine and its related compounds for use in analysis by gas liquid chromatography. Single chromatographic peaks were obtained for all of the compounds tested.
Response was found to be well reproducible for the derivatives which passed through the entire chemical and chromatographic procedure, and no problems were posed in the analysis of mixture. Under the anhydrous condition, the derivatives were stable with respect to time, and yield of derivative was found to be above 98 % for each of the seven metabolites of tryptophan.
