Abstract

In automated laboratories, analyzers should be connected to the sample transportation system. To make this connection easy and efficient, appropriate or standard designs should be defined for the analyzers. We proposed here, minimum requirements for the physical interface for sampling mechanisms, including sample positioning on the transportation system in relation to the sampling probe of the analyzer, the means of identifying the specimen, and the safety issues related to operation and maintenance.
