Abstract

This paper describes the change of travel characteristics on macroscopic and microscopic point of view under state of emergency due to COVID-19 pandemic on April 2020 in Kochi urban area. This study proposed survival time analysis using smart card data to analyze the change of travel characteristics. The change of zone OD number of passengers is analyzed as macroscopic analysis and the change of travel frequency of each passenger is analyzed as microscopic analysis. As the results of parameter estimation of Cox hazard modeling, characteristics of zone are possible to affect on the change of zone OD number of passengers, and characteristics of the passenger are also possible to their change of travel frequency. Therefore, this paper showed that survival time analysis using smart card data can deliver the fundamental knowledges for considering public transport use promotions or its marketing after state of emergency of COVID-19 pandemic.
