Abstract

We hypothesize that the social value of a road bridge is not attributable solely to the attributes of the bridge itself, but is determined through its interaction with social contexts, such as the site-specific geographical characteristics of the bridge location, its position within the road network, changes in usage patterns, and updates to design codes. In this study, we specifically examined the value related to trafficability within this hypothesis. In addition, we developed a method for mechanically extracting the value of structures from large-scale data and attempted to identify such value without relying on existing predefined categories. The results show that the irreplaceable value of each bridge can be objectively extracted without prior definition. This demonstrates a process in which value emerges from relative relationships within the network structure. The proposed method enables objective and explainable decision support by reducing dependence on individual judgment, thereby providing guidance for enhancing administrative decision-making in practical applications.
