Abstract

 In the ballasted segments on JR East Shinkansen track, after the ballast renewal work, the operation train speed has been reduced the purpose of preventing for an excess vertical vibration. In this paper, we studied the effect of stabilizing function of tamping machine (UNIMA), and the possibility of increasing the speed limitation. Based on these studies, we proposed an improved method that suppresses settlement due to passing Shinkansen, an appropriate method using UNIMA. Usind these methods, It was confirmed that there were no significant difference in train sway even when the speed was incresed to.
