Abstract

In this study, the static modulus of elasticity of concrete was estimated from impact loading tests using a portable Falling Weight Deflectometer(FWD) and numerical analysis before and after repair by resin injection and pavement replacement on Reinforced Concrete (RC) deck slab reinforced with steel plates bonding of an actual bridge with composite deterioration in a mountainous area in Fukui Prefecture. And the effect of the repair was evaluated using the results of examination and analysis. The results of the impact loading tests before and after the repair showed that the estimated value of the static modulus of elasticity increased, confirming the effectiveness of the repair by resin injection. By using the load conversion coefficient to convert the impact load to static load, the deterioration state of the concrete slab was evaluated by estimating the static modulus of elasticity through impact loading tests using a portable FWD and structural analysis using a finite element model.
