Based on the nationwide inspection and diagnosis results of fishing port facilities, this study utilizes the Markov chain model to calculate transition probabilities, providing new insights into the deterioration trends of fishing port facilities and contributing to the formulation of future maintenance management policies. Initially, a comparison was made with the existing findings from similar facilities, such as harbor facilities. The analysis revealed that approximately half of the transition probabilities for breakwaters in fishing port facilities exceeded the range observed in harbor facilities, suggesting distinct deterioration patterns. Furthermore, differences in facility types and structural forms were found to significantly influence the average transition probabilities in fishing port facilities, indicating variations in the progression of deterioration. Despite these differences, the overall distributional shape of transition probabilities remained generally consistent across facility types and structural forms.
