In recent years, the development of bicycle paths has been progressing, and users’ needs for improved riding environments have been increasing. While previous studies have examined the riding comfort of cyclists using the Bicycle Ride Index (BRI), only a limited number of studies have addressed pavement evaluation indices that consider the comfort of child or infant passengers on bicycles with infant seats. Therefore, this study aims to construct a pavement evaluation index focusing on the comfort of child or infant passengers and to examine its applicability to actual road surfaces. As a result, the proposed index showed a strong correlation with the comfort evaluation index defined in ISO 2631-1 (1997), indicating that it represents a new evaluation measure distinct from the BRI. Furthermore, when the index was calculated for every 10 m section of the actual roads, it successfully detected local surface damages such as cracks, demonstrating its applicability in real-world environments.
