This study evaluates the sustainability of municipal bridge maintenance by jointly analyzing management capability and distribution by construction period. Using data from 54 municipalities in Aichi Prefecture, including bridge inspection results, fiscal indicators, and demographic statistics, principal component analysis and cluster analysis were applied. The results identified seven categories of management capability and five categories of distribution by construction period. By integrating these, 35 composite types were derived, revealing trends associated with regional characteristics and geographical proximity. The findings also highlight the presence of municipalities with incomplete data and the risk of concentrated renewal demand, underscoring the importance of evidence-based policy making (EBPM) and the need for strategic, category-specific responses.
