Abstract
In this paper, dynamic analyses on a full system, which consists of ground, group-pile foundation and superstructure, are conducted using a three-dimensional static and dynamic finite element analysis code DGPILE-3D to investigate the seismic performance of a steel-pile foundation with inclined piles. And dynamic analyses, in which an axial-force dependent model for pile is introduced, are conducted to evaluate the behavior of inclined piles filled with concrete. Furthermore, the seismic performance of a steel-pile foundation with inclined piles is evaluated in comparison with the caisson foundation, which has the same magnitude as the steel-pile foundation, and then it was found that the seismic performances of their foundations for the superstructure are nearly same.
