Abstract
In Japan, the technique of prestressed concrete bridge has rapidly advanced since 1954, and Kamimatsukawa-bridge of 40m span length was constructed in 1955. Furthermore at the end of 1956, we succeeded in constructing the Prestreessed Concrete box beam bridge, named Kongo-Ohashi for the first time in Japan. The present paper includes a report on the design execution and all sorts of experimental data of this bridge, all of which were under the charge of the Osaka Prefectural Government. It is worthy of special mention that the type of this bridge gives a solution when the depth of beam is severely resticted. The depth and the of span of this bridge are 30.40m and 1.10m respectively and this ratio is 1/27.6.
