Abstract

We derive coupled thermal, stress and seepage equation in a saturated porous media such as soiles and rocks based on a mixture theory, in which mass density and viscosity coefficient are treated to be dependent on temperature change. The mass density is also considered as a function of pore pressure, but we determined that the results are not different from the classical Boussinesq approximation even if in a deep underground. Note that classical Boussinesq approximation implies the mass density is dependent only on the temperature change. Then the natural convection can be treated clearly.
