Abstract
In order to examine the effects of static strength of steel and softening weld material on the fatigue strength, fatigue tests have been carried out on three types of cruciform fillet welded joints, which were made of high strength steel and weld material for the high strength steel, the high strength steel and weld material for mild steel, and mild steel and weld material for the mild steel. Test results indicate that the effects are not significant if the size and the weld toe geometries of joints are the same.
