Abstract
It is an important issue to utilize the resources of numerous traditional topographic maps by alternating to digital data. We propose an efficient and precise means of geometric correction for those topographic maps distorted due to not only elasticity of paper but also due peculiarity of each scanner. The paper consists of two items; i. e. an interactive inputting interface utilizing the coordinates information of each map, and for geometric correction appropriate algorithms responding to each ones. The preciseness of the input data and geometric correction were verified by employing frequency distribution diagrams, and the sufficient results for practical use were given.
