Abstract
Portland cement concretes with high flexural strength by using ordinary materials are applied to airport pavement constructions in accordance with the social requirements on savings of both resources and construction costs. The main conclusions are as follows: 1) Concrete slabs with high strength concretes can be constructed in the same way as that of conventional concretes. However, both timing and method of curing must be carefully minded. 2) The behaviors against the environmental actions, load carrying capacities and fatigue characteristics of high strength concretes are almost same as those of conventional concretes. Therefore, the current structural design methods can be adopted.
