Abstract
The extent of damage due to a disaster depend greatly on resident’s situation at the onset of a disaster. Therefore, it is critical to consider resident’s activities during normal circumstances in order to execute practical damage assessment. The purpose of this study is to examine the procedures involve in undertaking a damage assessment by considering resident’s activities both before and during a disaster. This simulator has the ability to integrate residents demographic data along with various activities being undertaken in order to produce various disaster scenarios. In that regard, the simulator would be an effective tool for effective disaster mitigation since it has the ability to simulate multiple real-life scenarios.
