Abstract
The waterproof layer on concrete slab is required not only the waterproof function of the materials but also the certain properties for dynamic wheel loading caused by running vehicles. The aim of this paper is to develop a material selection method for waterproof layer based on performance-based design procedure. The mechanical characteristics of waterproof layer on concrete slab for the dynamic wheel load were investigated by using FEM analysis, and the mechanical behavior of waterproof layer was made clear. And also, it was proposed the design methods of waterproof performance evaluated by both of the adhesive properties to concrete slab and the vertical displacement of pavement surface.
