Abstract
Assimilated food sources of pond snail, Bellmaya chinensis, which has been designated as an endangerd species was investigated by using carbon stable isotope and fatty acid biomarker at paddy field in Shibata-gun, Miyagi prefecture. Stable isotope analysis revealed that main assimilated food source of B. chinensis was sediment and periphyton on their shell. There was significant positive relationship between shell length and carbon stable isotope ratio. It indicated contribution of suspended matter was relatively higher in smaller individuals. From fatty acid biomarker, green algae or cyanobacteria were seemed to be main assimilated sources of B. chinensis in all class of size.
