Abstract
The objective of this study is to propose synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data-selection support information by using a digital elevation model. SAR data are very useful for earth observation at the time of natural disasters because they are not weather dependent. At present, analytical data are selected by using the orbit distance and water vapor on the observation date. However, analytical precision declines in areas where the topographic conditions prevent access by microwaves. We therefore propose the images to support data selection (referred to as SAR data-selection support information) by using digital elevation model that enables to select the data of better conditions. The results are as follows: (1) by using digital elevation model, we have generated a new data-selection map that contains information of shielded and reflection areas. (2) based on the images generated from devised methods, we have proposed a data selection support information that can be helpful when the user purchases the data.
