The IPCC Fifth Assessment Report points out an increased risk of heat-related mortality in Asia. We have defined a DT value expressed as the product of WBGT and exposure time. The risk level of the thermal environment was examined from the relationship between the number of emergency transports due to heat stroke and the DT values, and apply the method to Sakai city. The proposed method can quantitatively explain the difference in the number of transported heat strokes for each risk level. Citizens will be able to understand the risk level of the thermal environment with the proposed method and, in addition, will be able to prevent heat stroke by acting on existing guidelines.
