The increase in precipitation associated with climate change poses a high risk of flooding. Therefore, it is necessary to take counter measures to reduce flood damage in the entire basin, which does not depend only on river maintenance. In case of planning countermeasures, we must estimate water storage in outside the river channel. In this study, we developed a water storage potential map that is internal to the outside of the national river channel and can be useful for basin hydraulic control planning. Rice field storage, park area storage and schoolyard storage were examined as internal resources outside the river channel. In the development of the water storage potential map, we clarified the regional characteristics of each water storage capacity and national land scale of each storage option.
