Abstract
The evaluation method of ecosystem metabolism was adopted to reveal the recovery characteristics of river ecosystems from a disturbance in sand- and gravel-bed reaches. The observation results indicated that the metabolism depended on bed material characteristics of each reach, and GPP, ER, and P/R ratio recovered during each period of non-disturbance that was defined for the sand- and gravel-bed, respectively. In particular, it was recognized the relatively high tendencies that P/R ratio in the sand-bed reach and GPP and ER in the gravel-bed reach were related to each factor that could govern the reactions of them. In this study, the time series data set in a limited time period was analyzed. In order to expand the discussion of the recovery characteristics of the metabolism to the longer time period, it is necessary to accumulate observation data from the ongoing monitoring.
