Abstract
The estimation of global solar radiation from photovoltaic generation was applied in urban scale region in Matsuyama plain. A new approach for the calculation of conversion coefficient was proposed by assuming that solar radiation on a clear sky day is representative in the neighboring area. This new approach enable us to estimate the conversion coefficient without direct observation of solar radiation at the location of established. Correlation of solar radiation and photovoltaic generation of solar panel is almost more than 0.99 for the conversion coefficient for each panel. Estimated value of solar radiation corresponded well to cloud distribution of whole-sky camera image. This approach is promising the spatially dense monitoring of solar radiation and cloud distribution in urban area.
