One of the new roles of “Michi-no-Eki” which play an important role in regional development, is to function as “transportation hubs” that interconnect different modes of transportation. While the number of Michi-no-Eki that function as transportation hubs is on the increase, at present there is no clear indicator to evaluate their function. This study proposes a quantitative evaluation method for Michi-no-Eki facilities that are assumed to be used by various modes of transportation as transportation hubs, by organizing and systematizing the facilities and services required of Michi-no-Eki as transportation hubs, and by analyzing the convenience of facilities based on user intentions and the capacity of parking lots. A method to quantitatively evaluate Michi-no-Eki facilities that are assumed to be accessed by various modes of transportation as transportation hubs has proposed by this research.
